Get to know Rudy...

Rudy Don Iriarte was born to Matilde Sablan Iriarte and Danny DeLeon Jose and has three brothers and four sisters. His maternal grandparents are the late Ana Aquiningoc Sablan and Ignacio Duenas Iriarte (Familian Berete and Dimas) of Sinajana.

 

Rudy is a product of public education, having attened C.L. Taitano Elementary School, Agueda Johnston Middle School, George Washington High School and Guam Community College Vocational Tech.

 

His resourcefulness and his determination, fuel his passion for community. This passion is exhibited in his hard work and involvement in various capacities and projects.

 

Rudy has worked in the private sector service industry for four years. He has also worked for the Department of Education's Division of Special Education as a One-to-One Aide for several years before having been employed for eight years at the Sinajana Mayor's Office under the Blas/Hofmann administration. There, he was employed as a Minucipal Clerk and Special Projects Coordinato overseeing programs such as Sinajana's popular Summer and Christmas Day Camp programs; the GCC Adult Education GED Neighborhood Calssroom; Sinajana's Annual Village Clean-Up event; special events for our manåmko'; liason for Sinajana sports teams; and as the Department and Agency liason for the Office of the Mayor, working tirelessly to improve and resolve water, power, streetlight and public works issues. He was a trusted advisor to Mayor Roke Blas and Vice mayor Robert Hofmann on policies and programs regarding youth, intervention, health and manåmko' at the time.

 

Rudy received numerous training and certificates from the Department of Education, the Office of Civil Defense, Homeland Security and the Mayors' Council of Guam for emergency response and shelter management, bio-chemical hazards awareness planning, and weather spotting, among others.

 

Rudy is also a devoted parishoner of St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church where he volunteers his time as a choir member and religion teacher for over twenty-two years and is a strong advocate for Pro-Life.

 

As a hobby, Rudy is a prt-time actor. He has acted in several local plays which include, The Rainbow Train, 12 Angry Men, Nasarinu, The Wizard of Oz, and the first and second production of Tinailayi (Playwrite: Mr. Peter Onedera of Sinajana.). He has also assisted in the production and coordination of official events such as the 1999 South pacific Games Fashion Show, President William J. Clinton's Presidential Visit, the 2000 Olympic Torch Run, and the KGTF Cultural Children's Show Prugraman I Famagu'on.

 

 

Through his experiences, Rudy has gained the knowledge of service, leadership, and community and is dedicated, determined, and has an unwavering committment to put the interests of the community at the forefront.

 

Rudy was successfully elected Vice Mayor of Sinajana in 2012 and currently serves as the President of Guma Mami Inc. with Mayor Robert RDC Hofmann as Vice President.
